Addison Primary School

Learn Together, Play Together, Achieve Together

Computing at Addison is implemented across different parts of the curriculum. We provide a wide range of technological experiences using facilities such as desktops, laptops, iPads, different applications, Beebots, and well-known software programmes. Our aim is to develop individuals who have a flare for the ever-increasing digital age we live in and to cultivate a clear awareness of online safety. Individuals will develop the ability to manipulate programmes for a purpose and to use the resources available to them with increased confidence.

In line with the national curriculum we aim to ensure that all pupils:

  •  can understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer

science, including abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation

  • can analyse problems in computational terms, and have repeated practical experience

of writing computer programs in order to solve such problems

  • can evaluate and apply information technology, including new or unfamiliar

technologies, analytically to solve problems

  • are responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology.
