Welcome to Year 5!

Pearl Class is taught by Miss El Zein.

Year 5 is an exciting and important year, filled with new challenges and opportunities to grow.

You will be expected to work hard, but don’t worry—there will also be plenty of fun and engaging activities along the way! Together, we will explore new topics, take part in exciting projects and develop the skills needed to become confident and independent learners.

We know you will rise to every challenge and help make this a fantastic year. Let’s make the most of it and enjoy every step of the journey!

English and maths are taught daily. Throughout the week, children also take part in a range of subjects, including Guided Reading, Science, History, Geography, Computing, Spanish, Music and PE. They will also practise handwriting, times tables and spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG).

English and maths homework is set from Monday to Wednesday, with topic homework set on Thursday. At weekends, children should continue practising their number fluency (KIRFs) and enjoying reading for pleasure.It is important that children reinforce and practise their learning at home. A variety of online resources and websites are available in the Useful Websites section of the Year 5 page.
