Starting Nursery is an exciting milestone in a child’s life. Our Nursery and Reception classrooms and outdoor areas have been carefully designed to maximise learning for young children. Children benefit from an open plan free-flow approach so Nursery and Reception children can learn and play together.

Every child is unique and  are able to thrive with the teaching and care of our early years experts. Children learn in a range of settings: whole class sessions; teacher led small group sessions and independent child led activities.  At the end of the Reception year, a careful programme of transition helps children to move smoothly into Year 1 and the wider school.

Admission Criteria

Children are allocated a place in our Nursery, after they have turned three, in accordance with the criteria outlined below:

• Siblings in the school

• Distance from the school

• A commitment to applying for our Reception once school age is reached

Applying for a Nursery place for September 2026

Children can join our Nursery at the start of the term that falls after their third birthday. To find out more about applying to Addison Nursery, please contact the school office, who will be happy to arrange a time for you to visit.
