Our Year 2 children had a fantastic time during their tennis lesson this week! They headed to the tennis courts for their regular session with our specialist coaches, who helped them develop their coordination, balance and ball skills through fun and engaging activities. The children showed great enthusiasm and teamwork as they practised rallying, serving and moving around the court. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow while staying active and enjoying the sport together!
Our Year 2 children had a wonderful time taking their science learning outdoors! As part of their topic on habitats, they ventured into the school playground to explore what lives in trees and woodland areas. They observed carefully and drew all the living things they could see around them. The children were full of curiosity and excitement, just like real scientists, discovering how many different creatures make their homes in nature.
Katie Piper Visits Year 2 – As part of her visit with the NSPCC, Katie Piper joined Year 2 in their classroom. The children were busy writing about kindness and loved sharing their thoughtful ideas with her. Katie spoke with them about the importance of kindness in everyday life, making it a very special and inspiring experience for all.
This week, Year 2 have been reading Vlad and the Great Fire of London. The children explored the story by learning how to sequence a narrative, carefully placing the pictures into the beginning, middle and end. This helped them to think about how events unfold and to retell the story in order.
