Welcome to Reception!

Blueberries Class is taught by Ms Amin, with support from Ms Carol.

Reception is a wonderful and important year, full of discovery, growth and new experiences. Throughout the year, we explore a wide range of subjects including phonics, maths, science, PSHE, music and PE. Our curriculum is based on the Early Learning Goals, which focus on key areas such as communication and language, personal, social and emotional development, physical development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts and design. These areas help to build strong foundations for each child's future learning, and we aim to make learning meaningful and enjoyable for every child.

You can support your child at home by reading with them every day. Encouraging them to spot familiar sounds or numbers in their surroundings is also a great way to reinforce what we are learning in class. For example, you might look for items that start with the sound we are focusing on that week.
