A celebration of learning
Addison is housed in a Victorian London Schools' Board 'triple-decker' style building.
A stunning exterior is complimented by a refurbished interior designed to maximise learning in the 21st century. Recent building improvements include: open plan nursery & reception class area; specialised Music Studio created; refurbished ICT suite with over 30 desktops; improved reception, offices and conference room;
Our ambitious vision means we are always seeking ways in which to improve school even more. Current development area is the 'Windows Replacement Project' which will shortly be completed.
Classrooms celebrate and stimulate learning. Rooms are filled with colourful displays of children's work. Key words and other teacher displays help support children's learning. Classrooms have digital projectors, interactive whiteboards and internet access to help us enrich children's learning.
Small school within a large school
Our Nursery and Reception classrooms and outdoor areas have been carefully designed to maximise learning for young children. Building work completed during the holidays (summer 2015) has resulted in improvements to our provision. Children benefit from an open plan free-flow approach. This space has also received a further £15,000 investment for new equipment and resources. Occupying one corner of the ground floor, this area and outside space create our Early Years unit.
Separate entrances for children and parents help create the feeling of a small school 'within a school'. Our beautiful Nursery Garden and wooden decked area for Reception children enable our youngest children to learn outdoors feeling safe in their own play area.
Our Staff and Parent Room in the Nursery is a welcoming space for parents helping them settle children into school, for many the first time children have been away from home.
Quality resources
Specialist rooms further enhance children's learning.
Playground
Our playground stimulates a range of different types of play, led by adults and our children as 'Play Leaders'. Breaks from learning inside are a fun time for children to take exercise and develop interpersonal skills.
