Home-School-Association

Social events and fund-raising

Our Home-School Association (HSA) exists to involve parents in the life of the school.  It's all about organising social events, for both children and their parents and raising funds for school.

There is and has been for many years a very active HSA at Addison Primary.  All members of staff and families of children at the school are automatically members of the association.

The HSA arranges Christmas and Summer Fayres and other events for the children.  Money raised from such events often subsidises the 'extras' such as sports kits, prizes and one-off events, and Memory Books for Year 6 leavers.  Money may also help provide additional resources for use in the school – a second set of reading scheme books was purchased by the HSA.

One of the biggest events in the school year is the Summer Fayre.  Everybody who visits has a lot of fun as well as raising lots of money for the school. We typically raise several thousand pounds.  The Christmas Fayre, Children's Discos, Easter competitions and non-uniform days are other highlights of the year.

Addison HSA is a great way to get involved and feel part of school life and also to get to know other parents.  Support us, by becoming active members or simply joining in the events we organise!

The HSA tends towards the philosophy of 'many hands make light work' so if you are able to lend a hand to improve your child's school days, even if it is only for a short time, please do.

  • Contact the school office or speak to any member of school staff and we'll put you in touch with key parents in the HSA.
  • Keep a look out for Friends HSA meetings and posters about forthcoming events.
