Geography

Across Key Stages 1 and 2, pupils learn about a wide range of people, places and environments, both locally and further afield. Geographical skills and locational knowledge are developed through the use of globes, atlases, maps and digital mapping. As pupils progress through the school, they build their understanding of human and physical geography, for example by learning about rivers as part of the water cycle and exploring the distribution of natural resources through their study of the Amazon. Pupils also take part in a range of fieldwork opportunities, allowing them to explore the school grounds and local area and apply their geographical knowledge and skills in real-life contexts.
