Every year, we celebrate International Day as a whole school to recognise and celebrate the different cultures within our school community and beyond. Each class learns about a different country, exploring its geography, traditions, food, music and famous artists or significant individuals. Throughout the week, children take part in a range of creative and educational activities that help them develop an understanding and appreciation of different cultures. We also warmly invite parents and carers into school to lead workshops and share aspects of their own culture, traditions or experiences with the children. The celebrations end with our summer fair, where families are encouraged to bring a dish from their country or culture to share with the school community. It is a lovely opportunity to bring children, staff and families together and celebrate the diversity within our school.
