Week 5 - The Ugly Duckling Story

Don't judge yourself or others by the external appearance. Look at the inner beauty. Believe in yourself and be special in your own way.

Do not judge others based on external appearances. In the story, other ducklings are cute when they hatch, but they are cruel of spirit. They judge their sibling based on his looks, unable to see his loving nature. Throughout the story, animals treat him poorly, but his desire to show love to others is undimmed. In the end, he finally finds a family that accepts him inside and out. They recognise his inner beauty and can see his true potential.

The Ugly Duckling” teaches us not to jump to conclusions because people are much more than their looks. Let's value others for their inner beauty and to encourage them to reach their true potential since you cannot tell what people are truly like based on appearances alone

Week 3 - Ruby's Worry

Let's start with the book Ruby's Worry.
This is a wonderful book for encouraging children -and adults- to discuss their worries and anxieties.

Ruby loves being Ruby. Until, one day, she finds a worry. At first, it's not such a big worry, but then it starts to grow. It gets bigger and bigger every day and it makes Ruby sad.

Ruby's Worry' offers an excellent starting point for talking about how we can deal with things when they are troubling us. Ruby does what many of us do when faced with a worry- she bottles up her feelings and tries to pretend there is nothing wrong. Meeting someone who also has a worry allows her to realise that she is not alone- and this makes everyone more likely to talk about things.
