Welcome to Reception!

If you need to contact us with any exciting news or concerns, please do so via email eyfslearningsupport@addison.lbhf.sch.uk.

Welcome to Blueberries Class! We are on a journey beginning to develop into amazing learners. To support your child, please make sure that you read with them every night, practice their phonics and practice their number skills together! Homework will be available on Reception class page each Thursday, and the children can play some great educational games on Top Marks or Phonics Play. Alphablocks and Numberblocks episodes (that can be found on Youtube) also support their learning!

Reception classroom learning can be found on our class page where you will find our curriculum overview.  The children in Blueberries Class are supported academically and pastorally with a focus on building great relationships with their teachers and peers, helping them to develop into well rounded learners.  Our aim is for the children to become confident and resilient, whilst having lots of fun along the way.

Please visit the Reception photo gallery to see examples of our exciting learning!

Notice for parents/carers:

Good morning,

I hope you are all well and your children have had an enjoyable first half term in Reception!

On Friday 22nd October we will be celebrating the end our topic ‘All About Me’. The children are invited to come to school in any clothing that represents their heritage or where they come from. We would also love it if they could bring in any objects or photographs that mean something to them. For example, this could be a religious item, an object from the country/city they were born in, a photograph of them when they were a baby or a toy that means a lot to them. The children will be encouraged to show and tell the class what they have brought in and why. We are really looking forward to learning even more about each other!

From next half term (week commencing 01/11/21) we will no longer be changing the children for PE. On Tuesdays and Thursdays please ensure you send your child in in full PE kit. They do not need to bring their uniform, they can remain in their PE kit for the entirety of the day. Please continue to ensure all items belonging to your child are named.

Also just a reminder that homework and reading books should be returned on a Monday please. We will not be setting any homework or sending home any books over half term, please look on the school website for some optional activities if you wish.

Next half term we our topic is transport. We would love to see any transport pictures from your holiday adventures. Please send them to eyfslearningsupport@addison.lbhf.sch.uk.

Thank you and have an enjoyable break!

Miss Lane
